Eyebrow Microblading

Eyebrow Microblading

Microblading is an extremely popular procedure for creating fuller and move even eyebrows. Adorn Permanent Cosmetics offers exceptional eyebrow microblading in Oakland, CA. Adorn is a female-owned and operated business that strives for the highest professional standards in service of its clientele. We’re proud to provide permanent makeup, including eyebrow microblading, to people from all walks of life. Say goodbye to the hassle of daily eyebrow maintenance and embrace the benefits of microblading.

How Microblading Works

The microblading procedure involves a super-fine tool (technically a tightly-clustered bundle of needles) which deposits pigment into skin. The tool creates strokes that closely resemble individual hairs. The procedure provides a semi-permanent effect distinct from standard cosmetic tattoos, which allows clients to change their brow design over time as trends change and the face ages. There is minimal discomfort during the procedure as we use a topical numbing cream before starting the procedure and add additional numbing while completing the brows.

BENEFITS OF MICROBLADING

If you are looking to enhance your eyebrows, microblading at Adorn offers a range of benefits:

  • Natural Appearance: Microblading creates fine, hair-like strokes that mimic the appearance of natural eyebrows, resulting in a realistic and natural look.

  • Time-Saving: With microblading, you wake up with perfectly shaped and filled brows, eliminating the need for daily eyebrow makeup application. Clients save an average of 10 minutes a day applying makeup after having microbladed eyebrows.

  • Semi-Permanent Results: Microblading pigment lasts long enough for you to enjoy the perfect eyebrow with minimal maintenance. Pigment also fades over time, so you can change your brow shape and/or color as trends and your preferences change.

EYEBROW TATTOO COLOR CORRECTION AND SHAPE CORRECTION

There are many reasons why an eyebrow tattoo may warrant color correction. As mentioned, the color of an eyebrow tattoo can sometimes fade as a result of sun exposure. The quality of pigments used in eyebrow tattoos has improved in leaps and bounds since the permanent cosmetics procedures used a decade ago, and even in the last few years. It’s possible the tattoo ink that was used for your past procedure has faded to grey, blue, purple, or red, and you’d like to return to a more natural look. We can tattoo a corrective color into the faded pigment in order to neutralize the color and create a shade you are more comfortable with.

Shape adjustment is another type of procedure we can provide. Sometimes microbladed eyebrows, tattooed eyebrows, eyeliner, or lip tattoo can be a little misaligned or lopsided. We can make adjustments for shape, symmetry, or balance.

Microblading Aftercare for best results

Compared to other techniques, microblading provides a look very similar to natural hair. It creates a semi-permanent eyebrow tattoo. You will be given aftercare products to take home and will be given instructions to care for your tattoo before you leave. The healing process varies from person to person but you can expect about 1 week of changes in the darkness of pigment and about 10 days to two weeks to see a fully healed result.

Avoid scheduling microblading immediately prior to photo sessions, auditions, or interviews. It is important not to do anything that could cause your skin to sweat into your eyebrows in the days immediately after the treatment. This can leech out the pigment and cause pigment loss, so you’ll need to avoid especially sweaty gym sessions for the week after microblading! People with oily skin types should take special care to avoid oily build up in the affected areas during healing using blotting papers. Our permanent makeup artists can advise on the right products for you.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR MICROBLADING SESSION

To make sure you get the best microblading results, pre-care is just as important as aftercare. Pre-care is important to get the skin at optimal condition for color deposit, keep you comfortable during the procedure, and reduce potential swelling and bruising after your appointment. You will need to avoid alcohol, facials, and any medications or supplements that might increase bleeding prior to your microblading session. Please review our pre-care instructions, and check in with your permanent makeup artist if you have any questions.

how long does microblading last?

Microblading generally needs a touchup a month after the initial procedure. Once the second session is complete, the pigment can last for a period between 12 months and two years. Depending on your lifestyle, the duration may vary. Direct sunlight can fade the pigment, and exfoliants can lift off the top layers of skin containing the pigment, so avoid using those on your brow area if possible.

EYEBROW MICROBLADING FOR PATIENTS WITH MEDICAL CONDITIONS

There are many situations in which permanent eyebrow makeup can be beneficial, for men and women alike. When it comes to eyebrow microblading, some clients choose to enhance or correct the appearance of their eyebrows, due to issues related to medical conditions:

  • Chemotherapy: Sufferers of breast cancer or other cancers may find their hair loss from chemo includes eyebrows. Until regrowth occurs, cosmetic tattooing can restore the appearance of eyebrows.

  • Alopecia: Those dealing with general hair loss can enjoy thicker eyebrows thanks to our micro pigmentation techniques.

  • Eczema/psoriasis: If a client has suffered hair loss on skin formerly affected by these conditions, subdermal pigmentation can offer an alternative.

  • Trichotillomania: Clients who struggle with the compulsion to pull out their own hair can benefit from paramedical tattooing to give their eyebrows texture that can’t be pulled out.

  • Vision or mobility issues: Clients who have visual impairments, muscle spasms, or other issues impeding their ability to apply makeup have found brow tattoo can help alleviate the daily frustration associated with applying makeup.

What is the Cost of Microblading?

After learning about the benefits of microblading, you really want to give it a try but may not be sure about the price, particularly in Oakland. You don't want to go for the cheapest deal for a semi-permanent face tattoo, but you also don't want to overspend just because someone says they're the best. Clients often come in with questions like, "How long will my microblading results last?" or "Does microblading work on older women?" But one of the most common questions we get is about pricing: "Why is your service on the pricey side?" It's a frequently asked question that we are more than happy to address.

Here are some factors that can influence the cost of microblading in the Bay Area:

  • Technician's experience and professional education: Highly experienced microblading technicians may charge more for their services because they have a proven track record of delivering quality results. At Adorn Cosmetic, founder Hallie Hyatt trains with leading permanent makeup experts on a quarterly basis. Hallie is a member of the Society of Permanent Cosmetic Professionals (SPCP), the largest non-profit association for this industry. SPCP members are held to the highest technical and safety standards. The investment in ongoing training and adherence to industry standards ensures that clients receive high-quality and safe services, and is one of the factors that affect the cost of our microblading services.

  • Location: Microblading prices can vary greatly depending on where you live. In larger cities and metropolitan areas, you may find higher prices compared to smaller towns or rural areas. If you Google “how much in microblading in California,” you may find that microblading prices in San Francisco are $750 for the initial session alone, and the average for the complete procedure in some cities like Los Angeles goes up to $1,500.

  • What’s Included: Don’t be fooled by a low price for microblading if it only includes one session. You will need an initial consultation, and two appointments to get the best microblading result. If considering the package price at a studio, you may see a consultation or a touch-up session included, or priced separately. How the packages are structured can affect your cost and how you can budget for microblading.

In addition to asking “how much will microblading cost me?” consider how you are currently taking care of your brows and how much you are spending on products like eyebrow pencils and powders, and eyebrow serums. If you have tried non–permanent eyebrow procedures such as tinting or lamination, consider the cost and frequency of those as well. Microblading is a semi-permanent solution that can last 1-3 years with proper aftercare.

If you are serious about microblading, don’t start by looking for a deal; start by researching permanent makeup artists in your area. Choosing the cheapest option when it comes to microblading may lead to botched eyebrows and even health risks. Look for professionals with a solid reputation, extensive experience, and a portfolio of work that aligns with your desired style. Check for certifications and licensing, as well as reviews from previous clients. At Adorn, we encourage you to review our Before and After Gallery and read client testimonials to help you learn more about microblading, what you can expect and how much you can plan to spend. We are here to answer any questions you may have!
